Fish pond cushion/pincushion pattern + cat bonus :)

A nice and small design with two fishes to make a biscornu pincushion (tutorial: what is a biscornu and how to make it) or a square motif for decoration. Today I drew inspiration from traditional Japanese fish ponds (koi ponds) and the yin-yang symbol.

Did you know? The design of such pond can have effect on the health of the carps in it.

How many types of fishes can you find on this design?

And the promised bonus: flowered cats pincushion pattern! The moment I finished one of the small fishes for the design, I just knew I had to put some cats in it too. These cats may seem a bit crazy in color, but they can bright up your life in a flick of an eye 🙂 I can’t go anywhere without cats, can you?

Note that this pattern is a bit bigger than the previous one.

Both of the patterns on this page are based on my own ideas and made from scratch without using any pictures from the Web. If you would like me to make a similar chart with different design (eg birds instead of fishes), just write your wish in the comments section 🙂
