Folk roses cross stitch pattern (after William Morris)

The name says it all: here is a new freebie, and it is heavily inspired by beautiful work of William Morris. I have seen some of his amazing gobelins when a large Pre-Rafaelite collection was exhibited in Pushkin art museum in Moscow. The whole exhibition was an overwhelming experience!

Pink rose on black cross stitch chart

When I found this photo, I instantly wanted to turn it into a cross stitch pattern. Though I’m not a big fan of roses, being more into something simpler, like peonies, chrysanthemums or sunflowers, this particular rose is very nice and tender.

Use a darker shade of canvas for more effect.

The pattern itself is quite similar to my earlier Lotus flower chart.

Two vintage roses cross stitch chart

These beautiful flowers are continuing the vintage theme that I like so much. The chart is made from a vintage picture of two pink roses.
Two vintage roses chart is quite complicated due to the number of similar colors in it. If you are a beginner, be prepared! 🙂

Vintage pink flowers

Here is a chart for all vintage and flower lovers!

A stalk with five pink wild roses (I consider this plant to be the prickly rose) with green leaves on a yellow-green background. According to the flower language the wild rose means “friendship and happiness” while in heraldry a rose is a symbol of the English Tudor dynasty and of the England itself.

Stitch count: 67w X 100h, 18 colors
