Hibiscus flowers cross stitch pattern

Hibiscus flowers free cross stitch pattern

Usually I post cross stitch freebies on Tuesdays, but yesterday was somewhat intense – and because of that I made a freebie today (and that is so not OCD, I’m really impressed by myself). Anyway, today I turned into a pattern this public domain image (sending my regards to the unknown author!) with beautiful Hibiscus flowers. It came out very light and easy, with less than ten colors of floss used.

Folk art flower cross stitch bookmark pattern

Flower bookmark Primitive art cross stitch pattern

A couple of weeks ago I posted a poll, asking all my readers about their favourite themes for cross stitching. Now I know that you like to cross stitch flowers :), therefore today’s freebie is flower. (And yes, I love flowers too!) It is a pattern that can be used for a bookmark or as a motif.

The flower is adapted from one of the 19th century folk artworks of John van Minian.

Two Christmas Temari balls

Christmas star temari with diamonds

These two temari were made for Christmas and New Year decorational purposes. I used green thread for background, and stitched the designs in festive red, white, and yellow colors.

First temari is a classical kiku (chrysantemum) design:

Spring and autumn bookmark patterns

Spring bookmark free cross stitch pattern

Two bookmarks that I made today are continuing the theme of the patterns that I made a couple of weeks ago. This time it is spring, represented by sweet first flowers and autumn with red and gold leaves.

Both patterns are free for download and very easy to make. Choose any colors you like!

Spring and autumn bookmarks

Pin-up Girl cross stitch pattern

Pin-up Girl free cross stitch pattern

This week I wanted to make a rune, then switched to making a pattern with some more vintage roses, but was not not in the mood to finish both. So here is one more vintage-inspired pattern, but this time it’s a bit more recent than Victorian flowers. This pattern is made from a picture of a pin-up girl I found on the Internet some time ago. Not sure why I liked it so much 🙂

The Kells cat free cross stitch pattern

Today I’ve looked through loads of photos, but decided to make a pattern based on my own drawing (again: previously I made the Turtle Island, Maneki-neko and the jazz cat with bass). It will again be a cat, probably because somewhere inside of me is a crazy cat lady dying to get out.

This pattern, as well as the source picture, is heavily inspired by the art from the Book of Kells. The artwork and illumination of this medieval manuscript is fantastic! I strongly recommend to look it up on Google (or to visit Dublin’s Trinity College, where it is displayed).

Two small Christmas biscornu patterns

Christmas biscornu free cross stitch pattern

My first charts on the new laptop, yay! It still gives me quite a hard time to type (can’t get used to the new keyboard) and has some Win8 issues with ftp connections, but all software runs fast and smooth 🙂

So anyway, here are two new patterns: very similar, but the first one is a bit bigger than the second. Any of these patterns can be used to create a biscornu or for any other Christmas decoration.
